While VC experience is not required, a proven track record of building sustainable member-focused organizations and delivering value for member stakeholders is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Foundational Leadership:
    • Work closely with the Board of Directors to refine the strategic vision and goals for GNVCA.
    • Develop and implement organizational policies, procedures, and structures (including personnel) for long-term sustainability.
    • Connect and coordinate with a network of peer VC associations across the country.

  1. Membership Growth and Engagement:
    • Create and execute strategies to attract a diverse membership base by firm size and investment focus and foster a sense of community among members and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with members to understand their needs and expectations and develop programs and services that add substantial value to their experience.
    • Implement educational events, networking opportunities, and resources to support the professional development of members.

  1. Community Collaboration:
    • Act as a visible and influential advocate for GNVCA within the Greater Nashville community.
    • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, government officials, and strategic partners to enhance the association's impact.

  1. Board Partnership:
    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to establish effective governance structures and practices.
    • Facilitate communication and collaboration between board members, committees, members, and other stakeholders.

  1. Non-Profit Administration:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with non-profit regulations and ethical standards.
    • Provide regular reports on key performance indicators, membership metrics, and other relevant data to inform decision-making.
    • Manage budgets, financial reporting, and administrative processes to ensure organizational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in community leadership and non-profit administration, with a focus on member organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a non-profit board of directors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong service mentality and approach in working with constituents.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Track record of success in building and growing sustainable member-focused organizations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic organizational environment.
