Anders Hall
Board Member
Anders Hall serves as Vanderbilt University’s Vice Chancellor for Investments and Chief Investment Officer. He leads the Office of Investments, where he is responsible for managing the university’s $10 billion endowment.
Anders joined Vanderbilt in September 2013 from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, where he worked at Duke University Management Company (DUMAC). As the Head of Public Securities, he oversaw the public investments for the university’s endowment and pension plan, the health system’s long-term assets, and the family foundation.
Prior to Duke, Anders was an investment consultant with Hewitt Investment Group (now Aon Hewitt) in Rowayton, Connecticut, and Atlanta, Georgia, where he advised approximately 20 institutional clients. These clients included the New York Stock Exchange, Freddie Mac (the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation), and the University of Alabama System. He also spent three years in the Prudential Advanced Management Development Program, a selective leadership training program based in Newark, New Jersey.
Anders, in addition to the board of the Greater Nashville Venture Capital Association, serves on the boards of The Healing Trust, the Kharis Foundation, the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation, and Rock the Street Wall Street. Additionally, he serves on the advisory boards of FEG Investment Advisors and Managed Funds Association. He previously served on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee, was a member of the governing board of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and co-chaired the Annual Fund at the University School of Nashville.
Anders holds an M.B.A. from New York University’s Stern School of Business, receiving high honors; and a B.A. in Economics and Public Policy Studies from Duke University.
