Joe Maxwell is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at FINTOP Capital. A trailblazer in the fintech industry, Joe has more than 30 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur, turned venture capitalist.  As FINTOP’s Managing Partner, Joe oversees $700+ MM in committed capital and its deployment into early-stage, B2B fintech companies. 

Joe serves as the Board Chairman for Brentwood-based Thread Bank. He also serves on the boards of Ampersand, SRA Watchtower, Amaryllis, Health Here, InsurePay, and FinMkt. Joe is an active member of YPO Gold and engaged in multiple charitable organizations.

Previously, Joe was Executive Vice President and Managing Director of IPreo Inc. where he led the Private Capital Markets, acquiring Clear Momentum and ILevel in 2015. Prior to its 2014 acquisition by Ipreo, Joe was Chairman and CEO of Shareholder InSite. He was also the Founder and CEO of CapControls; and Founder, CEO, and Chairman of Investment Scorecard which sold to Informa in 2007.

Joe holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management, and a B.A. in Spanish and Philosophy from Denison University. Joe, a Huntington, West Virginia native, is a longtime Nashville resident, where he and his wife Juliana raised their three sons; Wyatt, Rudy, Hadley and three Labradors; Gus, Sandy and Pearl.
